Eintracht Frankfurt Draws 1-1 with RB Leipzig
On Sunday, Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig met in a thrilling Bundesliga match that saw both teams leave the field with a point apiece.
The first half was tense as neither team could find the breakthrough. The home side had the better chances, with several shots on target, but were unable to capitalize. Meanwhile, Leipzig were also pressing for a goal, with their forwards finding themselves in good positions to score.
However, it was Eintracht Frankfurt who eventually broke the deadlock. In the 55th minute, midfielder Kai Kamada delivered a perfect cross into the box, and forward Robin van Persie nodded his header past Leipzig goalkeeper Jonas Weseler. Eintracht Frankfurt led 1-0 after just 10 minutes of extra time.
Leipzig then equalized in the 92nd minute. Forward Joshua Kimmich played a pass through the middle, which was met by Christian Pulisic, who fired a shot from outside the penalty area that found its way into the back of the net. The game went into penalties, but Eintracht Frankfurt failed to convert any of their attempts, while Leipzig scored twice in the shootout.
Despite the draw, Eintracht Frankfurt will still finish second in Group C, while Leipzig will move up to third place. Both teams will look forward to the next round of matches, where they will face each other again in a rematch of this season's Champions League final.
