Manchester United's Anthony Martial scored the only goal as they secured a crucial victory over Reading in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday night.
The Portuguese forward netted his first goal for the club since he joined from Monaco earlier this summer, and it was enough to secure all three points for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men.
Martial had been involved in all four goals in Manchester United's last two games, scoring twice against Watford and then providing an assist for Juan Mata in their win over West Ham United on Monday.
But he was denied a hat-trick by Reading goalkeeper David Raya when his header went narrowly wide with just seconds remaining in normal time.

The 24-year-old also had a chance to add to his tally when he fired a shot at goal but it hit the post before falling behind the crossbar.
Despite the missed opportunity, Martial was pleased with his performance against Reading, saying: "It was good to be back out there playing football again and I'm happy with my performance today."
He added: "I think we were unlucky not to get another goal, but overall we played well. We've got to keep going like that if we want to make progress in the competition."
United will now face either Fulham or Chelsea in the next round of the competition, while Reading move into the play-off places following their impressive display against the Premier League side.
