On Saturday, Li Ke scored a hat-trick as Beijing Guoan secured a 4-2 victory over Guangzhou R&F at the Beihang Sports Center.
The match was a closely contested affair throughout and it was only in the second half that Beijing Guoan started to dominate proceedings. In the 57th minute, they were awarded a penalty after Guangzhou R&F defender Zhang Pengpeng handled the ball in the box. This gave Beijing Guoan the perfect opportunity to take the lead and they did not waste it, with Li Ke converting from the spot.
Just two minutes later, Li Ke doubled Beijing Guoan's lead by scoring his second goal of the game. The winger's shot was deflected into the net by Guangzhou R&F goalkeeper Wu Lei, who had no chance to stop it.
Beijing Guoan's third goal came courtesy of midfielder Wang Zhaoyi, who converted from the penalty spot after he was fouled in the box. However, Guangzhou R&F refused to give up and managed to score twice in the last ten minutes through goals from substitute attacker Xu Yuxin and defender Ye Shiwei.
Despite their efforts, Guangzhou R&F could not find the back of the net and Beijing Guoan held on for the win. With this victory, Beijing Guoan moved up to fifth place in the Chinese Super League table and will be hoping to continue their good form when they face Hefei Qingshan in their next match.
