Openda has secured the rights to broadcast all 18 games of the Bundesliga for the next two seasons, according to reports in Germany's Der Spiegel magazine.
The deal is worth 50 million euros ($62 million) and will see Openda broadcast live matches from the top-flight German football league on its website and mobile app.
The agreement marks a significant victory for Openda, which had previously been unable to secure the rights to broadcast any Bundesliga games due to financial constraints.
However, the company has since raised funds through a private equity investment, allowing it to make the deal possible.
"Openda is delighted with this successful conclusion," said CEO Christian Kienitz in a statement. "We are proud that we were able to deliver on our promise to offer a high-quality digital experience for fans."
The Bundesliga is one of the most popular football leagues in Europe, with a large following both domestically and internationally. The addition of Openda's streaming service to the league's broadcasts could help to increase viewership and revenue for the league.
In recent years, there have been concerns about the state of German football, with some clubs struggling financially and facing pressure to sell players. However, the Bundesliga remains a major source of pride for many Germans and a key part of their cultural identity.
With Openda's new deal, the league can continue to attract and retain top talent, while also providing fans with access to high-quality content and a convenient way to watch their favorite teams play.
