Southampton's youth academy is set to develop five talented individuals over the next three years, according to the club's CEO Paul Gilham.

The plan is part of the club's ambition to become one of the top clubs in Europe and to produce the next generation of talent for the national team.

"We want to continue to build on our strong youth system and we believe that by developing five young talents over the next three years, we can make significant progress," said Gilham.

The academy has already produced some of the country's most successful players, including Raheem Sterling, who won the PFA Young Player of the Year award in 2017.

Gilham added: "We have a lot of young talent coming through the ranks at Southampton and we want to continue to nurture them and help them develop into world-class footballers."

The club's youth academy has also been praised for its success in producing players who have gone on to play in the Premier League and other top-flight leagues around the world.

"The academy has produced some incredible talent in recent years and it's great to see them continuing to develop and grow under the guidance of their coaches," said Gilham.

"I'm really excited about what the future holds for the youth academy and I'm confident that we will continue to produce some fantastic players for the club and for the country."
