West Ham United have been struggling in the Europa Conference League this season, with their only victory coming against Bate Borisov in the first round. However, they will be looking to bounce back from that defeat when they take on Rapid Wien in the second qualifying round.
The Hammers have had a difficult start to life in Europe, losing all four of their group stage matches so far. Their opponents in the second qualifying round, Rapid Wien, are a strong side who finished third in the Austrian Bundesliga last season and reached the quarter-finals of the Europa League in 2019-20.
Despite the daunting task ahead, West Ham manager David Moyes is not giving up hope just yet. "We're going into every game with a positive mindset," he said. "And we'll be focused on doing our best and seeing where it takes us."
Moyes knows that his team needs to improve if they want to progress further in the competition. "We've got to find a way to score goals and defend well," he added. "It's not easy playing against good teams like Rapid Wien, but I believe we can do it."
While the Europa Conference League may not be a priority for West Ham at the moment, Moyes is determined to make the most of any opportunities that come their way. "We need to keep improving and growing as a team," he said. "And hopefully, we can get some momentum going in the Europa Conference League and build some confidence for the Premier League."
